In the normal course of affairs, Toy Day, New Years, and Festivals round off the event calendar before it starts again. Nintendo doesn’t plan on New Horizons running the normal course of affairs, though.
During Nintendo’s recent earnings call, company President Shuntaro Furukawa said the goal is keeping New Horizons fresh. He said:
Thus far, New Horizons updates have added more than just holidays. They included things such as diving and fireworks shows, alongside more important updates like backup save support.
This will be the first year-end sales season for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and we hope even more people will take that opportunity to purchase the game.
There’s no telling what Nintendo might have in store for the future. Even aside from brand-new content, there’s still a fair bit New Horizons doesn’t have yet, including Brewster’s Café and Katrina the Fortune Teller, not to mention former town mayor Tortimer.
