The direct began with Sotoru Iwata (President and CEO of Nintendo) presenting a new Fire Emblem game for the Nintendo 3DS. Fire Emblem will be developed by intelligent Systems the same team that developed Fire Emblem Awakening. The character design will be done by Kozaki Yusuke. and story will be done by well-respected manga writer Shin Kibayashi.
Puzzles and Dragons Z was discussed in the direct. In this game you explore a fictional land called Dracomacia. You match three or more colorful orbs to damage enemies. You can even chain combos to deal more damage. Coming along with this game is an Mario edition of the game. In the Mario edition you traverse the Mushroom Kingdom in a traditional style. You play as Mario and choose Mushroom Kingdom citizens such as Luigi, Toad, and even Koopa Troopa, and Goomba to save Princess Peach from the evil Bowsers clutches. This comes as an amazing two game pack will be available sometime in May of this year for the Nintendo 3DS.
A new game called Pokémon Shuffle was shown for the first time. It’s a puzzle game in which you match-up three or more Pokémon to damage enemies. However there is a limit to how many moves available to you. You start with five hearts that go down gradually by one at a time.When you run out of hearts you have to wait to battle again. You can get more hearts by using specific items found in the game or by purchasing more hearts at the Nintendo eshop. It will be available in the eshop in February.
Wii games will be coming to the Wii U and this time you can use the Wii U gamepad.Games include Super Mario Galaxy 2 (available now), Punch Out Wii, (available January 22nd) & Metroid Prime Trilogy (available January 29th).These games will be half price through out their respective release weeks and on the Nintendo eshop.
Next Bill Trinen (Senior Marketing Manager of America) presented a little news. First came Kirby and the Rainbow Curse. He explained in this game you don’t have to just beat the levels. There are tons of collectables and hidden treasures to collect for you completionist. In the treasure chests you will find songs, figurines, and other goodies. In Kirby and the Rainbow Curse you will have a limited amount of ink to draw rainbow roads with, so use it wisely especially on levels with no ground. You also can view your collected figurines in the figurine showcase. Also it is amiibo compatible. With the Kirby amiibo you can use your star dash at will (instead of every time you collect 100 stars).The King Dedede amiibo gives the Dedede hat and a sixth health bar (normally five).Finally with the Meta Knight amiibo you get the Meta Knight mask and a spin dash speed increase to defeat smaller enemies faster.
Bill Trinen then revealed who will be apart of the fourth wave of amiibo for Super Smash Bros.This wave includes Robin, Lucina, Pacman, Wario, Ness, and Charizard and will be able on store shelves this spring.
Super Mario will also get its first wave of amiibo and includes Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, Bowser, and for the first time Toad. The amiibo will be released March 20th.
Mario Party 10 will be the first game to use these amiibo. If you don’t wanna buy new amiibo for this game you’re in luck the Smash Bros. amiibo will be compatible, however to use Smash amiibo you have to erase that amiibos Smash data. There are three game modes in Mario Party 10. The three modes are normal party (play the traditional Mario Party mode), new Bowser party (five player party mode with one of the four competing against the other four as Bowser with gamepad), and new Mario Party amiibo party. Use your amiibo to get a corresponding game piece and board. The special amiibo boards give unique properties (Mario board you get giant mushroom and collect coins and Luigi board you get to suck up opponents with poltergust). You can also assign one token to your amiibo for items which can give you an advantage.A total of nine amiibo will be compatible with this game being Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Rosalina and Luma, and Wario. Mario Party ten will be available for the Wii U March 20th and you can also buy the amiibo bundle pack.
Toads amiibo will also be available for Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. When the amiibo is being used a pixel version of Toad will be hidden in the level. You can search for it in a hide and seek style gameplay. Both an update for Captain Toad and Toad amiibo will be available March 20th.
In Splatoon your inklings (characters) will be first transferred to a hub where you can see and interact with other inklings. It also will have online multiplayer and customizable clothing and weapons which can be bought in the in-game shops. You can switch your equipment at anytime and equipment will affect your stats. You will have three weapons at a time. Your main weapon is your go to weapon for attacking a lot of enemies at a time. Your sub weapon is used to create diversions and block opponents pathways.You charge your special weapon for an ultra powerful shot.
For the Hyrule Warriors Majora’s Mask DLC will give you the option to play as Tingle and young Link. Tingle uses balloons to attack along with a giant wallet and a technique called the “kiss of death”. Young Link gets the kokiri sword and fierce deity mask for transformations and special attacks. Additional maps will be included and three new costumes. The DLC will be available February fifth.
Xenoblade Chronicles X got a new trailer.
In Mario vs Donkey Kong Tipping Stars you can create and share stages. An all new “tipping system” is integrated to reward players. You see when you share a stage and someone likes your stage they can give you or “tip” you some coins so you can create more levels with more building parts. Another way to get coins is the single player campaign. Once you beat a level you can earn up to three stars based off your performance. This game will be available in the eShop for the Wii U and Nintendo 3ds March 5th and as an added bonus once you buy one version you will get a free download code for the other.
Bandia Namcos Katsuhiro Harada (Tekken series and Soul Calibur series) presented an announcment of a game code-named Project Treasure. It is a four player co-op game for the Wii U where you clear traps, rout enemies and collect treasure. It’s free to download at the eshop and accessable to anyone with wi-fi. That’s all we know for now.
Fossil Fighter Frontier 2 will have two on two online battles, six player local play and online co-op. An online tournament mode to test your teams skill is also available. This one will be available March 20th
Reggie Fils-amie presented the New Nintendo 3DS XL. It plays both old 3DS and new 3DS games, and has a c stick. New 3DS face tracking in 3-D mode, built-in amiibo support and NFC, improved surfing, faster download and processing power. It has a longer battery life and auto adjust brightness. You transfer save data from old to new 3DS and has a smaller four gigabite SD cards. Unfortunately it won’t include an AC adapter, but you can use your old one for it. It’ll come in black and red.

Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy has amiibo support for Nintendo themed aircrafts and will be available February 13th
Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS has a bonus mode to view 3-D character models. It will also be developed by Monster games the same team who developed the port for Donkey Kong Country port.
Monster Hunter Dour Ultimate will also have a hardware bundle exclusively with GameStop. Availability on February 13th. A demo of the game will also be available soon.
