In any case, ahead of the upcoming show, the organizers graduated a total of 890 understudies of the African Film Academy sponsored by the Lagos State Government with grants to assist them with starting up in the creative area. The graduation of the understudies was part of the drawn out activities lined up to herald the award night.
Speaking at occasion tagged “Film in a Container Graduation Ceremony” held at the Lagos Theater, Igando in Alimosho, Lead representative Sanwo-Olu restated his administration’s obligation to collaborate with stakeholders in the entertainment industry to train and acquire abilities that would create an environment to give job to creative minds.
He also asked the graduates and other creatives to take advantage of the Lagos States Business Trust Asset and the State Film Asset, to become independently employed and bosses of labor.

Speaking earlier, Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Pharm. (Mrs) Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, said the initiative was to make the young people agents of change in the creative industry and break new grounds to enable them become confident.
She said the concept had been expanded to foster the arts and culture for ideal performance to stimulate economic development, abilities, and occupation creation to overcome any issues in the state creative industry. In her remarks, a prestigious filmmaker and CEO of the African Film Academy, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, complimented the firmness of the graduates and encouraged them to investigate the creative industry with training got at the academy.
Anyiam-Osigwe said however the mandate was to train 600 individuals, the Academy proceeded to train and take care of 890 understudies in Epe, Alimosho, and Badagry.
She noticed that a portion of those trained in the Academy have already been engaged by professionals in the creative and entertainment worlds.
The graduates and a portion of their works were introduced to Lead representative Sanwo-Olu after a six-week free intensive training.
